The Tuesday night seniors group took a trip to the Classic Grand this week to give some support to some of our guys who play in Vinyl, who were taking part in Behind the Noise; a “Music and Business Education Programme” run by Glasgow City Council.
The guys were one of six bands taking part, all of whom turned in a solid performance, with one or two absolutely stunning performances. There was some incredible creativity on show, with the bands performing a mix of covers and some great original material. The evening was rounded off by a stonking, ear bending performance by HeterodoX, who shrugged off a PA related problem at the outset of their set to deliver a terrifically mature performance. They sent everyone home on a real high, being joined on stage by our very own Ibrahim Dikko to blast out a high energy James Brown tribute worthy of the great man himself 🙂
The Behind the Noise programme is open to all schools in the Glasgow area, so if you’re interested in a career in the music business, then start badgering your teachers to take part – the link to the programme is here.
